Contemplative Coaching
Contemplative Coaching
Group trainings can be powerful ways to build resilience, improve health, reduce stress, and cultivate a sense of balance and ease. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindful Yoga Course and workshops offer this. Also, I tailor organizational trainings for groups wanting a specific way of learning.
Many people, however, prefer the personal focus and accessibility of one-to-one work. My contemplative coaching supports you in direct and tangible ways through personalized, experiential learning—designed to help you move effectively toward what matters most in your life.
People often seek coaching to:
- allow life’s joys and difficulties to live side-by-side
- make lasting improvements in personal relationships
- enhance professional development, confidence, and optimism
- find meaningful ways to contribute and give back
- cultivate vitality, balance, and sustainable self-care
- work through limiting beliefs and strengthen self-motivation
- discover a unique, workable way to meet life’s transitions
How we work together
One-to-one coaching is a natural complement to my group trainings, courses, and workshops, while offering the depth and responsiveness of individualized attention.
You will be in the driver’s seat. Together, we clarify your intentions and goals—large or small—and explore practical ways of leaning toward them. My role is to listen deeply, ask honest questions, and support you as you define a path that fits your life.
People come to coaching for many specific reasons, including:
- stress reduction
- chronic pain or health challenges
- career questions or transitions
- grief, loss, or major life changes
- deepening mindfulness or contemplative practice
- becoming more at home with themselves
- improving relationships or navigating conflict
- establishing a regular meditation or movement practice
My approach
My approach to coaching has grown out of more than two decades of work with thousands of people in group trainings, workshops, and one-to-one consultations.
I meet clients in the context of their whole lives—family, relationships, work, health history, community, and spiritual orientation. From this broader and compassionate view, we can work with what is actually happening and what you most want to move toward.
My work has been shaped by many teachers and traditions, including mindfulness-based stress reduction, embodied practices, and contemporary approaches to interpersonal work. You can read more about this background on my profile page.
Getting started: the Clarity Session
Coaching begins with a complimentary Clarity Session—an unhurried conversation, without expectation or obligation, to explore your intentions and life goals.
In this session, you’re invited to ask questions and decide for yourself whether coaching feels like a good fit. If we decide not to work together, I may offer referrals or resources that better support your needs. Coaching is not therapy and therapy may be a good path for you.
If we do choose to continue, we’ll shape a coaching arrangement that suits your life—perhaps a small number of sessions, or a longer-term process of support. Throughout our work together, you remain in the driver’s seat. Sessions are available in person, online via Zoom, or by phone.
If this speaks to you, I invite you to reach out — Brant
